The Euro 2008 Qualifying rounds and matches are well underway and the action is hotting-up! The top nations around Europe are currently battling it out hoping to gain qualification to the Euro 2008 football championships, co-hosted by Austria and Switzerland.

England have been handed a favourable draw in the qualifying stages for the 2008 European Championship. The other home countries and the Republic of Ireland face tougher tests to reach the finals in Austria and Switzerland after the draw was made in Montreux.

England - under Steve McClaren - will face Croatia, Russia, Israel, Estonia, Macedonia and Andorra in Group E. Two superb 3-0 home victories over Israel and Russia at Wembley have inspired confidence for qualification but a return trip to Moscow awaits later in the year!

Scotland faced a major battle to qualify from one of the hardest groups alongside France, Italy, Ukraine, Lithuania, Georgia and the Faroe Islands. However, the Tartan Army currently sit top of their group after doing the double over current European Champions France! It looks likes 2 from 3 between France, Italy and Scotland and Alex McCleish will be hoping they're still involved come June 2008!

Wales and the Republic of Ireland are currently battling it out against the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Cyprus and San Marino. Qualification is looking unlikely for both sides despite Wales superb 5-2 victory away at Slovenia!

Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington must also plot a difficult course to the finals after being drawn with Sweden, Spain, Denmark, Latvia, Iceland and Liechtenstein. After two recent defeats in September 2007 it's looking bleak for Healy, Gillespie & Co!
